I was born and raised in Winnipeg Manitoba, my father is from the Pegquis Reserve. I am honored to be working with the Mission Friendship Centre. I come with both lived experience and educational experience helping me to better understand the needs of the clients and the community. I look forward to the journey with staff, board, and community members to move forward in a good way.
Cheyenne is an Outreach Worker who works with community members to assist individuals with development and maintenance of support networks, educate individuals and families about community services and advocating on behalf of the individuals.
Cheyenne believes that Outreach Workers are social service professionals who go out and assists those in need. Outreach Workers play a vital role in serving the community. We fill the gap between delivery of social services and the people in need.
Fun Fact: Cheyenne’s favorite meal from Al’s Great Kitchen is his Hamburger Soup!
I am a mother of three young children, I am from Skatin Nation. I have been working here since August and got to know quite a few of the clients. I like my job, I like the people, I am the first contact person at the centre and guide you to the right person. I have a supportive spouse and he is known for his bannock making.
I am cheerful. I am approachable. I try to keep an open mind when it comes to conversations, please feel free to discuss or talk to me about anything and I will try to direct you to the necessary services. I have over 35 years of counselling experience with youth. I have owned and operated 5 businesses in my career and are presently semi-retired. My background consist of experience in the health field, management, financial, & retail consulting, I am happy married for over 45 years and have three beautiful adult children. I enjoy working within the centres environment with a solid leader.
